Marion K. Allen - Stained Glass. Organic forms and colors are my usual inspiration; a piece of glass or a slice of rock can lead me in any direction. The solder work is as important as the glass in most of my compositions. Mostly self-taught, many of my techniques were developed, by necessity, from the philosophy “Mistakes are simply opportunities for creativity.”
Ritika Bhatia: Textiles, Shawls, Home Furnishings. Born in India, I grew up amongst fabrics and textiles. All products are hand-made in small batches. They are usually one-of-a-kind finishes. The scarves have varied weaves and are often embellished with Kreul embroidery and sequins. The challenge has always been to keep the original basic features of the products that are centuries old and tweak the designing to give them a more current and modern aesthetic.
Ann Burbach - Wearable Fiber Art, Jewel I am amazed and inspired by the seemingly endless variety, colors, textures and beauty of the designer yarns that are now available. I create intuitively and seldom follow a pattern. My works can be worn, draped over a couch or hung on the wall. I enjoy wearing my art whether it is with a little black dress or blue jeans. My goal is to make the wearer feel fabulous.
Anita Burgermeister - Mixed Media. I grew up loving the arts. In 1998 I started “Art by Anita” creating custom murals, faux finishes, and fine art. My mediums include: paint, glazes, photography and texture on a variety of surfaces. I enjoy urban landscapes, abstracts and musical themes as subjects. I also design websites and play piano.
Alice Konkel: Silver Jewelry, Lamp Work Beads, Polymer. ”My work tends toward abstract symbolism, giving most of it an organic or flowing quality. Shapes, colors and form have always intrigued me and I use my knowledge of them to create a mood in my work. Great care has been taken to produce one of my creations and I am honored when someone wears one of them. I have given you an irreplaceable piece of my life in the hours it took to create it."
Audrey Dulmes: Oil Paintings and Pastels “I am initially attracted to an outdoor scene, interior vignette or still life by the interplay of color and light. It is my intention to pull the viewer into the setting, causing them to enter the scene. My eye is excited by the subtle yet sensuous play of color, light and shape and it is my hope to convey this emotion to the viewer.”
Janis Kruk: Watercolors, Jewelry, Fabrics Many of my images and ideas bubble up from my ‘Planet Janny’ dreams. It can’t be helped – my sense of humor seeps into everything I touch. I’m easily amused and am happy to pass the feelings along in my artworks. I wish to instill light-heartedness and good vibes in everyone who comes across my creations – so buy some, already, and take some delight home with you!
Shelly Loke: Drawing, Felting, Jewelry Shelly likes to create in a myriad of mediums from wool to glass. She is driven in the discovery of new techniques because each material has its own heart to lend to the expression of forms and ideas. As of yet, no one course has grabbed on to heart so that she pursues it and it alone. But in all this mayhem, drawing holds true as her first and strongest love.
Johnna K. Papin: Paintings. My first work was with transparent watercolor and my preferred subjects were landscapes and cityscapes. I have most recently been painting the figure with opaque watercolor and gouache and have found the figure as a subject to be a source of both challenge and delight. Opaque watercolor offers me the opportunity to use color in a new way and to continue to experiment and to grow as an artist.
Joe Ralston: Metal and Glass Sculpture. Joe was born in South Africa, grew up in Israel and has lived in the U.S. for 20 years. He views the creative process as a spiritual process and a means of expression through the hands. Joseph works with steel, glass and ceramics, combining materials that might not normally be seen together but unite the elements to form seamless unity. The key symbol in Joe’s life work and art is the Mediterranean Hamsa
Suzanne Shea: Painted Furniture Suzanne’s teaching has inspired her line of Masterseats, restored and refurbished seats that are painted and inspired by art history. Recycling a chair and giving it new life by mach making its’ unique form and contours into an inspired study of a Master’s work gives Suzanne great satisfaction. She finds immense pleasure in blending art education and history into creating something new that will bring someone both functional and visual pleasure.
Mark Stall: Photography. I'm drawn to things and places that have seen their better days. They're in one form of deterioration and not long for this earth. I photograph rural barns, architectural forms throughout the world, people, nature and found objects. I enjoy the way the objects, buildings and structures go through change. I'm inspired to document the changing condition with hopes of inspiring people to preserve them or to at least be more aware of them.
Michelle Wildgruber - Etsy Ceramics and Glass. My work in Raku is heavily influenced by natural forms and lines, which I then bring into my pieces. My focus has been in traditional form as well as the development and mastery of a wide variety of firing techniques. This expertise allowed me to develop ceramics that utilize ornate shapes and vibrant colors. My passion for classical imagery in my artwork has been cultivated from my Mexican heritage and my travels through Mexico.
